The Kisii Governor Hon Simba Arati on Sunday visited Baby Sagini at Kisii Eye Hospital and cleared the baby's medical bills.

Baby Sagini ‘s eyes were gouged out by unknown individuals who are now being pursued by the Police.

Speaking at the facility, Governor Simba urged the police to investigate the matter swiftly and bring the perpetrators to book.

” I want to thank the Police…I’m told they are making headways in investigating the matter “, Arati said

The Governor also said that plans are underway to help the other elder sibling who is mentally challenged.

” I have instructed my minister for health to immediately rescue the elder sister and bring her to our facilities.As a government we are going to take care of the babies even though the mother has not showed up and the father is part of the people who are being investigated “, Arati added

Arati also has challenged the Members of the 4th Estate to chip in in helping combat mental health problems in the society.

” The local media should play a key role in educating and helping combat mental illness in the villages. It’s My humble request that the media should give a priority to cases such as mental health in order to make a positive impact in society”, Arati opined

Governor Simba cleared all the hospital bills for the baby and instructed the officers concerned in the County to take up the matter and make sure that the affected family has stabilized

” His eyes were removed completely. There is no technology in the world that can restore the eyesight of the baby. He will have to live like that forever “,Dr Kiage said.
