SIMBA ARATI SAGA TAKES NEW TWIST
GSU officers have surrounded and raided some offices belonging to Kisii Governor Simba Arati at Gusii Stadium. Yesterday, the governor claimed that security officers wanted to raid his Motonto home and other premises at night, but that he asked them to do it during the day.
•Governor Arati described the presence of the officers as an act of intimidation against his government.•He said the same officers had notified him that they will conduct a night raid in his Motonto residence in Bobasi.
There was confusion on Monday when a contingent of heavily armed General Service Unit officers surrounded Kisii Governor Simba Arati's office.
The officers, however, did not hinder the governor and his team from accessing the office located at the Gusii Stadium when he arrived for work on Monday.
