A mason died after falling from the sixteenth floor of a building under construction in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.David Kariuki was among workers at the site along Othaya Road when he slid and fell off landing
on his head, police and witnesses said.He was fixing blocks when he fell off on Monday evening, his colleagues said.He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Nairobi
police boss Adamson Bungei said.It is the latest such incident to happen in the industry in a series that has seen dozens of workers dead.Lack of safety gear has been blamed for the incidents at the
construction sites.Many of the workers fall off or are hit by falling objects. For instance, a worker was on Sunday killed after a falling stone hit him in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
He was loading stones onto a crane when one fell off and hit him in the head killing him on the spot.Construction works at the Kileleshwa site were stopped pending the
ongoing probe, police said.This is the latest such incident to happen in the city in a series at construction sites.
