SON HEUNG-MIN CLOUD MAKE SENSATIONAL ANFIELD MOVE.

SON HEUNG-MIN CLOUD MAKE SENSATIONAL ANFIELD MOVE.

Liverpool are planning an audacious move for Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur.

That's according to one stunning report, following rumours that the South Korean has decided that he wants a new challenge. Son has been at Tottenham since 2015 but apparently now wants to move to a "bigger club".

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both said to be interested in the player but now Liverpool have emerged as a shock suitor, just months after registering interest for Harry Kane prior to the Darwin Nunez move.

According to CaughtOffside, the Reds are monitoring the situation and could pounce for the 30-year-old, whose contract expires in 2025.

Son last signed a new deal last year but with Tottenham looking at ways that they can revamp the entire squad, they could be tempted to part ways with their No.7 should a good bid come in – especially following form this season.

The forward has scored just three goals in the league this season – admittedly all coming in the one game against Leicester, when he came off the bench to net a rapid-fire hat-trick. But given that Son is now 30, Tottenham could be persuaded to make a good profit on the player while they still can.

In the past, the Lilywhites have missed opportunities to sell prized assets at their prime, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Danny Rose all leaving for well below their peak value.

According to Sport1(opens in new tab), PSG and Real Madrid are leading the race for the beloved Spurs figure. Chairman Daniel Levy would most probably prefer to sell the player abroad – unless Liverpool were to make a bid that was impossible to turn down.

Son is valued at around £67.5 million by Transfermarkt(opens in new tab).
