Ruto Orders Review on Digital Taxation
The Kenyan President, William Ruto, has called for a review of the finance bill which proposes a 15% tax on digital content creators. Ruto has requested that the parliamentary finance and ICT committees reconsider the clause and give content creators some time to plan their finances before resuming tax payments. Ruto also stated that the government has requested YouTube to enable Kenyans to register on the plartform and start paying them.
