Radio Africa, Mediamax to Air World Cup Matches at Fan Parks.

Radio Africa Group and Media Max Network have been granted the rights to air the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches at Fan Parks.

 

The media outlets said on Monday this followed a collaboration with AFS International to screen 28 matches in seven Fan Parks across the country. 

 

"The screening will take place in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu Eldoret, Meru and Machakos amongst other cities and towns," Radio Africa Group CEO, Patrick Quarcoo and his Media Max counterpart Ken Ngaruiya said in a joint statement. 

 

The public screenings will run from November 20 through to December 18, the entire period the tournament will be stage in Qatar.

 

 

AFS International chairman Andrea Silva said this is the first time FIFA has granted these rights in Kenya. 

 

"We are excited to partner with Kenya's leading media networks - Radio Africa and Media Max Networks to deliver a once in a lifetime experience for Kenya," Silva said. 

 

Entry to the FIFA Fan Parks will be free but fans must have tickets.

 

The Fan Parks will have huge screens and world class sound system, enabling viewers in the respective venues to see and enjoy the games.

 

 

Some of Kenya's biggest celebrity radio, television and social media stars, leading political figures and business leaders will join in watching the games. 

 

"The matches transcend the games themselves. The FIFA 2022 World Cup screenings are an amazing for connection, engagement, friendship and the bringing together of Kenyans of every political persuasion, ethnicity, religion or gender. We expect hundreds of Kenyans to turn out and watch the action in the amazing Fan Parks across the country," Quarcoo said. 

 

 

Ngaruiya said major brands in Kenya, county governments, parastatals and businesses are invited to join hands with them saying the screening events will offer them an opportunity to showcase their brands.

 

"The Fan Parks will allow companies to engage consumers and activate their brands directly over the whole of the FIFA World Cup 2022 screening period," Ngaruiya said.

 

Radio Africa Group and Media Max Network command the controlling share of radio listeners, have millions of TV viewers and social media followers.

 

Over Sh605,250,000 has been committed by the media majors in advertising and promotion of the FIFA world cup 2022 Fan Parks.
