John Ngumi Resigns

John Ngumi, a prominent boardrom veteran, has resigned from the board of Kenya Airways(KQ) after serving for four years. Ngumi was a favorite appointee to the boards of various parastatals, but his fortunes have deteriorated under the reign of President William Ruto. Ngumi had also resigned from the boards of Safaricom. Two firms in which the government has a significant stake. In a notice released by KQ Board chairman Michael Joseph, Mr.Ngumi, who chaired the Board's Audit and Risk Committee, expressed satisfaction with the work he had done at the airline and left the arena for others to build on it.
