Inside Nairobis Bizarre Church of Satan Linked to Deadly Accidents

Bizarre incidences continue to hit headlines in Kenya with some now being linked to a controversial temple in Nairobi city. Reports have now emerged revealing that ‘The Church of Satan’ .Reports have now emerged alleging that ‘the church of Satan’ Nairobi’s new branch is behind the deadly incidences witnessed in the country in the past few years.  According to a report by a local daily, the church is located at a very highly confidential area in the city and operates in secrecy. Sources reveal that the ‘church’ has attracted many followers with many bizarre incidents in the city being linked to it .

For instance ,long distance drivers and locals residing along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway have always linked supernatural powers to frequent accidents on the busy corridor.  There are tales of evil spirits disguised as beautiful women lurking on the highway with drivers claiming they have been flagged down by female “ghosts”.

“We witness a lot of bizarre things on this highway, especially at night. Images resembling human beings emerge from nowhere and stand right in the middle of the road. I have enough experience. I can be able to differentiate between a ghost and human beings,”  Kennedy, a truck driver for the last 15 years was quoted by a local daily .

Another driver, who spoke in confidence said he has been working on the road for ten years but has in the recent past been flagged down by suspicious women several times .

According to media sources, in this ‘church’  now accused of such incidences , members are prohibited from mentioning the name ‘Jesus’ and celebrating Christmas  which is to mark his birth. However members are not allowed to treat visitors with kindness if they annoy them. Instead, the church advocates for treating annoying guests “cruelly and without mercy” and promotes an “eye for an eye” morality.

A source aware of the secrets of the bizarre cult say that in this temple sins are not things like coveting your neighbor’s wife or committing adultery. It goes against morality and okays its members to make sekxual advances if you are given the mating signal. It however prohibits being stupid, pretentious or self-centered.

However , religious leaders in the country have termed the acts of the new religion in the country as an exceptionally high ration of scam atheists conning Kenyans ,who willingly want to join the church where prayers start with “Hail Satan.”

“I have wanted to join the church but I have been asked to give an amount of money that I cannot only afford over a long period of time,” Papre, a Kenyan who wants to join the church told The a local daily. “I have already paid Sh4,000 and I am only left with Sh4,000 to pay.”

Papre is one of the many Nairobians, who had invested  to join the Church of Satan, founded on April 30, 1966 by Magus Anthony Szandor LaVey with the aim of being “openly dedicated to the acceptance of man’s true nature—that of a carnal beast, living in a cosmos that is indifferent to our existence.”

Membership is strictly private, making it difficult to establish the number of the members of the church of Satan in Kenya. The head office in New York did not reply to our request for information about the membership and activities of the church in Kenya.

Members of the Church of Satan are strictly forbidden from “outing” other members who have chosen to remain underground.

All memberships are processed only through the New York office. There are two basic degrees of membership in the Church of Satan – “active” and “registered” – whereby every member, upon induction, begins as an active member and becomes registered if they are invited to do so by church leadership.

However , websites of the church had initially claimed that Kenya is one of the countries in Africa where unscrupulous residents were attempting to get money from the government on behalf of the Church of Satan. It however failed to explain the link between the government and the scam. There are individuals who are not happy that they are asked to give a lot of money before they can join the church.

“Why are you asking people to pay money to join? According to the ‘Gospel of Satan’, that’s wrong. Satan is rich and he doesn’t need anything,” one of the members asks.

Papre revealed that this is the third time that he is paying to join the church after two unsuccessful bids. “I have been conned twice but I am not giving up,” he said.

According to Moses Mutua, a sociology lecturer at Moi University who regularly uses the Nairobi- Eldoret highway, sometimes supernatural powers have an influence superstition could not be the invisible hand causing accidents on Kenyan roads.
