GOSPEL SINGER REGINA MACHARIA EXHUMES DAUGHTER'S BODY AFTER FAMILY BEEF.

renowned gospel singer has exhumed her daughter’s remains after more than a decade in the highlight of a frosty relationship with her ex-husband.

 

Regina Wangui Macharia, who is popularly known in entertainment circles as Regina wa Anganiwe, said the move to exhume her daughter’s remains will give her ‘peace of mind’ as the deceased was ‘not wanted’ where she was buried.

 

She further suggested that the exhumation was as per the ‘will’ of her ex-husband.

 

The deceased, namely Ann Shiru Ruguru died of a brain tumour 12 years ago.

 

Regina’s ex-husband is a church pastor.

 

Their marriage was dissolved in May 2019 by a Nyeri court.

 

The singer, in a recent interview with a vernacular radio station, claimed she got married aged 15 and was barred from using her husband’s name.

 

The mandatory age for sexual consent in Kenya is 18.

 

On Wednesday, the popular singer shared an emotional video saying she was collecting the remains of her daughter to go and bury her elsewhere.

 

She also shared a court order giving her a go-ahead to exhume the body.

 

“God gives me peace to endure this pain as I take the remains of my daughter, Ann Shiru Ruguru, who was rejected by her father as I go and bury her where she will be treasured,” she emotionally shared.

 

She also shared photos of the exhumation process, showing a white coffin with people gathered to witness the emotional event.

 

The musician was among several prominent artists who entertained guests during the burial of the first Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua on March 6, 2017.

 

In their messy divorce, the couple accused each other of cruelty and desertion.
