A Girl Who Escaped From Her Parents Home 12 Years Ago, Returns Home With A University Grade

Tears of joy rolled freely down the eyes of the given girl Sylvia Keeiz Kosikil as she was reunited with her lovely family in Ewaso Ngiro area of Narok South, Narok County after 12 years of being in a rescue center.

Sylvia, 20, fled her home in 2009 to avoid FGM that her father had planned in a bid to give her out for 'early' marriage.

When she got wind of the plans to marry her off to an old man, Keeiz escaped to a church where she hid for some days before the faithful secretly secured a place for her at a Rescue Centre in Narok town.

“I was only ten years old then but had learned in church that FGM was not a good practice and it could cause harm to my body. This is what made me seek refuge in the church,” she recalled.

It has now been revealed that Sylvia escaped after she had rumors that their parents had a plan to initiate her before giving her out "selling" her to an old man as the age of her dad.

After escaping these terrible plans and acts, Keeiz was received by well-wishers and proceeded with her education as dreamed.

She went to one Maasai Girls Secondary school and managed to score C+, a grade that gives one straight entry into the university in Kenya.

The girl's dream is almost coming to pass because she is preparing to pursue a nursing course at KMTC. Her family received her with joy after missing her for more than 10 good years.
