4 Healthy Habits That Have Changed My Life

4 Healthy Habits That Have Changed My Life

4 Healthy Habits That Have Changed My Life

 1. Eating healthier

Changing my eating habits turned my life around. Unfortunately for me, I am a sweet tooth and cake happens to be one of my favorite things to eat. However, with the too much sugar, it somehow made me feel more tired every time I indulged in either cake or sugary things.

I took a turn around and decided to incorporate healthier options in my diet. I now eat a balanced meal and more preferably, vegetarian food. Changing something as simple as my diet has made me productive these days and I find that my energy levels have improved compared to then.

 2. Exercising

Besides eating healthy, I have incorporated exercise in my daily life. A few years ago, I struggled with back pain for a long time. Besides changing my posture and my seat, I took a step to getting a work standing desk for my office. I found that standing is also a good form of exercise and good for the back as compared to sitting for long periods.

I also take every opportunity I get to walk and even use stairs. Taking walks after a long day at work also has made an improvement in my general health and I no longer have back problems. When you have your health, then you can do and try other things without a lot of limitations.

 3. Reading

I find that giving room for yourself to acquire new knowledge and see the world from other people’s experiences and eyes can be a good part of growth. I personally love reading books. My current read is ‘’Founder Brand’’ By Dave Gerhardt.

Over the years, I have read many books that have helped me catch up with trends and improve on things that I have been doing to get better results. Find a book to read, or improve your skills by taking that short course. It could be what is standing between you and the next level.

 4. Self-reflection

A few weeks ago, I took my annual leave from work. I was feeling fatigued, 8 months into the year working without taking much of a break. It is times like these that help me reflect on my journey, where I have come from and where I plan to go.

It helps me relax but at the same time, I can strategize and prioritize which helps me get to another level. It also helps me see things clearer and come back to work reenergized with new ideas and increased productivity.

Self-reflection is an important part of self-improvement which I would recommend for you to try. It has worked for me; it may just work for you too!

Creating healthy habits can be either easy or difficult. Have a goal and know why you are doing it in the first place and what your expected results are. Once you have that in mind, then is easier to see the impact of healthy habits not only in your personal life but also in your career.
