On Thursday, Njiru's family, among them his two wives , were
at the General Kago hospital's mortuary during the post- mortem examination of his body.
One of his wives, Wambui, told Citizen TV that her husband
never slept outside, and his death is a major blow to her and
their two kids.
Njiru's family said they were not aware of his relationship with
Kangogo, denying knowing her.
Speaking to the press, Ale Njiru, the father to the deceased,
said he only knows of his son's two wives and not Kangogo.

In a related article, Njiru allegedly
helped Kangogo escape after the killing of John Ogweno, according to detectives.
After shooting Ogweno, the officer then took off with his
firearm, a loaded Ceska pistol and drove to Juja, where she
lured Njiru to Dedamax Hotel on Monday, July 5
She later emerged from the room at around midnight and fled
to an unknown destination, leaving the dead man’s body
sprawled on the bed. Detectives established that she lured her
second victim to the room after paying for it before savagely
shooting him on the head at point-blank.
She told an attendant working at the guest house that she had
gone to buy toothpaste before making her escape.
Reports indicated Kangogo, who broke up with her husband, a
senior police officer over infidelity, dated the two deceased men at different times.
