The House Business Committee is mandated to prepare and, if necessary, from time to time adjust the Parliamentary Calendar with the approval of the House.

Ruaraka MP T0m Kajwang and his Eldas counterpart Adan Wehliye are among nine MPS whose names have been proposed to seat at the National Assembly's House Business Committee.

The names were tabled on Tuesday afternoon by Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwah, as the legislators resumed plenary sittings.

Others are MP Samwel Chepkonga, MP Faith Wairimu, MP Umul Kassim, MP Omboko Milemba, MP Robert Mbui, MP Sarah Korere and MP Joshua Mbithi

The nine will join Speaker Moses Wetangula,  Ichung'wah, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Chief Whip Sylvanus Osoro and his minority counterpart Junet Mohammed who are automatic members owing to their positions.

The HBC is appointed within seven days after the new House is fully constituted.

During the absence of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker chairs the Committee.
