EXPRESSION OF POWER.

EXPRESSION OF POWER.

EXPRESSION OF POWER.

JAMES 5:16B

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. (AMP)

We have explained the limitless mighty power inherent in the believer. We also said that this power deposited in the believer must be expressed before it can be seen or experienced. Though we have this exceeding mighty power in us, if it is not expressed, it will be as though we have no power. It is the expression of the power in us that makes people think that some believers are powerless, and others are powerful. We said that the first stage is to discover the power in us through revelation knowledge of the scriptures. This revelation knowledge is called “Epignosis” in Greek. When we have discovered the power in us, we must begin to live daily in that consciousness till it becomes our persuasion or awareness. That knowledge by awareness is called “eido” in Greek. We must be aware of this power in us like how we are aware of our gender or name.

Another factor needed to express this power in us is boldness and confidence. This comes by prayer. From our opening text, the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of the believer makes tremendous power available, and dynamic in its working. The power in us must be available to use when needed. This is achieved by prayer. It is by prayer that we make the power in us ready for action. It is by prayer we develop the boldness to express the power in us. It is not enough to know that we have power. It is not enough to be aware without putting that power to work. We must exercise ourselves in consistent life of prayer and more discovery through the study of the scriptures to be able to express ourselves in this limitless power we have in Christ. What makes another believer appears to be more powerful than others is knowledge and prayer.

Many situations in life require the exercising of our power and authority in Christ. There are situations people are facing in life that we need to exercise our power to help them. We must therefore exercise or give expressions to the power of God in us. We should issue commands and instructions through prayer. We must arrange circumstances and enforce the purpose of God by the power in us. There is always the first time of seeing the result of power. The more you see the power of God in you displayed, the more confident you become. Don’t be afraid to express the power in you. Those who never took the first bold step never experienced the power of God. Cast out devils, heal the sick and set men free from trouble. The power is in you.

CONFESSION: I cast out devils, heal the sick and set men free from trouble and oppression.
