5 Ways To Maintain Your Wellness Routine While Catching Flights

Traveling is fun, exciting, and liberating, but it can also be detrimental to your health. How many times have you established a solid wellness routine only to have it derailed after going on a trip?

We love to travel and the amazing experiences that come with it, but it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice our health.

Here are 5 tips for staying healthy while catching flights.

Pack your supplements

If you haven’t been taking your vitamins — start now! When traveling, be sure to pack your supplements for the number of days you’ll be away. Choosing supplements can be overwhelming, so stick with the basics. A multivitamin, vitamin D, vitamin C, and B-12 are great to always have on deck.

Pack healthy snacks

Airports can be a tricky place to find healthy options. Avoid blowing the bank *and* your wellness routine by packing snacks that are easy to eat while on the go. It’s important to fuel your body and not go too long without eating — so having snacks in your bag at all times is ideal. Great snack options include protein and fiber. Try raw nuts, string cheese, popcorn, beef jerky, or hard-boiled eggs!

Move your body

When on long flights, you should get up every hour and walk around the aircraft. This helps with circulation in your legs and avoids blood clots. While on vacation, take at least 30 minutes per day to move your body — it will make you feel better!

Drink water, lots of it

It’s super easy to not drink a lot of water when traveling. Yes, it’s inconvenient to always be on the search for a bathroom, but it’s better than being dehydrated. Travel with a reusable water bottle and remember to hydrate throughout the day. Pack electrolyte packets for an extra boost!
